Al Rams Beach

On the northern coast of Ras Al Khaimah, where the Hajar mountains meet the sea, Al Rams is a quiet fishing town fringed by mangroves, calm shallow water and the Saraya Islands. The beach here is a laid-back escape for swimming, kayaking through the mangrove channels and easy beach camping, all against a dramatic mountain backdrop.

The sheltered, shallow water makes it family-friendly and ideal for paddling and stand-up paddleboarding, while the nearby mangroves are alive with birdlife. It is a peaceful alternative to the busier southern beaches, and a favourite for a relaxed overnight by the water as the sun sets behind the peaks.

The cooler months from October to April are the best time to visit, with comfortable air and sea temperatures. Come self-sufficient, as facilities are limited: bring shade, plenty of water and reef-safe sunscreen, and take all your rubbish home to keep this stretch of coast pristine.
