On 2 December the UAE marks Eid Al Etihad, its National Day: the anniversary of the union of 1971, when six emirates came together as one country, with Ras Al Khaimah joining in February 1972. This year is the 55th.

Most National Day t-shirts carry a slogan. Ours carry a place. Each design is drawn from somewhere real in the Emirates: the Milky Way rising over the desert at Al Quaa in Abu Dhabi, the Hajar peaks above Wadi Naqab in Ras Al Khaimah, and the dune ridges of Liwa at the edge of the Empty Quarter. Choosing, timing and gifting

Which design for which person

Al Quaa Galaxy is the Milky Way over Al Quaa, one of the darkest accessible skies in the Emirates, printed across the back of a black tee. It suits the person who drives out of the city to look at the stars.

Hajar Mountains is a topographic line drawing of the Hajar peaks, printed on grey. It is the one for hikers and anyone who heads for Ras Al Khaimah when the weather turns.

Empty Quarter is a tonal sun setting over the dunes of Liwa, embroidered on beige with no print at all. It suits desert drivers and anyone who prefers a quieter shirt.

The Sahra Polo is 240gsm piqué with an embroidered mark, for someone who would rather wear a collar.

Every tee is 230gsm combed cotton, AED 199, in Regular or Oversized, sizes S to XL. Any two tees are AED 359.

Getting it in time for 2 December

In the UAE, orders placed by 2 pm on a working day are dispatched the same day and delivered the next working day, free, with no minimum order. Public holidays are not working days, so order a few days before the National Day holiday rather than on the eve.

GCC orders (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait) take 3 to 5 working days, at AED 50 or free over AED 390. The rest of the world takes 7 to 14 working days, at AED 80.

Tick 'This is a gift' in your bag and add a message: we include it with the order. Every order comes with the Sahra Tote, free. If the size is wrong, exchanges within the UAE are free within 14 days of delivery, as long as the shirt is unworn with its tags on.

Will my order arrive before 2 December?
