Sahra & Beyond was born out of a love for the wild, quiet corners of the Emirates — the places most people drive straight past without ever knowing they are there. Inspired by the unique landscapes of the UAE, from rolling dunes and star-filled desert skies to hidden wadis, rugged mountains and empty stretches of coast, we exist to help you get out and experience them for yourself.
How it started
It started with a simple camping trip in the desert. One night under a sky thick with stars was all it took — that trip lit a spark, and a passion to explore more of this landscape that only grew with every journey after it.
The further we went, the more we realised how much the UAE holds beyond its cities, and how little of it is mapped for the people who actually want to find it. Sahra & Beyond grew out of that: years of exploring the farthest corners of the country, turned into a guide for everyone who feels the same pull.
What we are about
Our mission is simple — to help you discover the wild side of the UAE. Not the polished, curated version, but the real one: the secluded camp spots, the wadis that flow after the rains, the mountain roads and the dark-sky deserts where the Milky Way still shows.
We want to make the outdoors feel within reach, so that anyone — first-timers and seasoned adventurers alike — can head out prepared, safe and inspired.
What you will find here
Every place on Sahra & Beyond is somewhere we would actually go. You will find an interactive map with real GPS coordinates, honest guides to camping, wadis, mountains, coast and dunes, live weather for each spot, and tailored packing lists so you arrive ready. There is a companion Android app too, so your next adventure is always in your pocket.
The name
“Sahra” means desert in Arabic — and “beyond” is everything else the Emirates hold once you leave the tarmac behind: the wadis, the mountains, the coast and the quiet. That is the invitation — come explore it with us.
Wear it
The places we explore now live on original tees — the Milky Way over Al Quaa, the dune ridges of Liwa, the peaks of the Hajar Mountains. Every design carries a place, drawn from the real landscapes on this site.
